Head-On Crash Kills 1, Injures Another On Ramona Expressway

NUEVO, CA — One person was killed and another was hospitalized following a morning crash in the Nuevo area, the Riverside County Fire Department reports. The head-on collision happened around 6:25 a.m. along Ramona Expressway at Hansen Avenue.

Seven firefighters from one engine company responded to the scene and had to cut at least one of the people free from the wreckage.

"There were a total of two victims, one in each of the vehicles that collided head-on," said agency spokeswoman Tawny Cabral. "One victim perished at the scene and one victim was transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital with moderate injuries."

The CHP is investigating the crash and additional details were not immediately available.
