Homeless Outreach Program Shares July Success Stories

Deputies and social workers helped several individuals find help needed to end homeless cycle and get back on their feet.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — The Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station, along with assistance from the non-profit Social Workers Action Group, assisted several individuals in July to end their cycles of homelessness through the joint homeless-outreach efforts.

Some 120 homeless people were contacted during the month, and among those accepting aid were a woman, 21, three men, 21, 22 and 53, and a 36-year-old mother with her 8-month-old baby, all who agreed to be housed at local shelters, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said. A 37-year-old man followed up with a detox facility, and other individuals volunteered to receive mental health services.

"The Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station takes great pride in reaching out to individuals and assisting them with ending their cycle of homelessness," deputies said.
