Idyllwild Arts Summer Concert Set At Disney Hall: Tickets On Sale
This will be final culmination concert conducted by Larry Livingston, world-renowned conductor with 30-plus years with the music program.

IDYLLWILD, CA — The always anticipated, annual High School Summer Chamber Festival Orchestra and Festival Choir of Idyllwild Arts is set for August in Los Angeles. That is good news for the program, as last year's was canceled due to the devastating Cranston Fire.
This year's event, featuring more than 100 talented, young musicians, is set for Sunday, Aug. 4 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, with tickets on sale for brunch, the concert or a brunch-concert combo.
The performance is a fundraiser with proceeds to help provide scholarships to hundreds of students through the Idyllwild Arts Foundation

Also making the afternoon notable is that this will be the last Summer Culmination Concert conducted by Larry Livingston, a world-renowned conductor, who has been the Idyllwild Arts Music Director of Summer Festival Orchestras for more than 30 years.
"He helped build the summer orchestral program into one of the finest youth orchestras in the U.S. and the evening’s performance will be dedicated to him," organizer said.

“This summer, we will glimpse the future of classical music on the grand stage,” Pamela Jordan, president of Idyllwild Arts said. “The evening will also be a tribute to Larry Livingston, who has invested so much time and energy into making the Idyllwild Arts Summer Program one of the finest in the world.”
The concert students will perform under the masterful batons of Livingston, along with Dr. Joseph Modica and Assistant Conductor Sey Ahn, who put together a highly professional and technically-advanced repertoire, featuring orchestral music drawn from the last two centuries, including Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier Suite and Inner Light, featuring choral works by Grammy-winning composer and conductor Eric Whitacre, one of the most popular musicians of his generation.
The two-hour show starts at 3 p.m. with a pre-concert brunch at 12:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by the public for $25 for only the concert, brunch for $75, or $100 for the concert and brunch. Details here.
