Lake Elsinore Man Splits Car in DUI Wreck: Sheriff's Department
"The driver of the Ford Focus lost control of his vehicle, colliding with a telecommunication pole and shearing it at the base," police say.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA - A 20-year-old Lake Elsinore man was arrested this week on suspicion of DUI after crashing into a vehicle and utility pole in town, sheriff's officials say.
The crash happened around midnight Monday at the intersection of Riverside and Eisenhower drives, according to Sheriff's Sgt. Todd Grimm. Grimm said Angel was traveling east on Riverside in a Ford Focus when he rear-ended a Honda Civic, before then plowing into a pole.
"The driver of the Ford Focus lost control of his vehicle, colliding with a telecommunication pole and shearing it at the base," the sergeant said in a news release.

The suspect was not injured, but one of the two occupants of the Civic was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar for treatment, according to the sergeant. The severity of that person's injuries were unclar.
Deputies conducted a field sobriety test on Angel and determined that he was drunk, Grimm alleged. The suspect was booked into the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta but posted a $2,500 bond and was released a few hours later.
