Large Marijuana Grow Discovered After RivCo Neighborhood Floods
More than 2,000 marijuana plants were seized by deputies.
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Flooded yards in a Perris neighborhood led to the discovery of a water leak — and a large indoor marijuana grow, according to a report from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
The investigation began Monday around 3:51 p.m. when sheriff's deputies were called to the 4300 Block of Candelaria Way in Perris. The caller was concerned because a steady flow of water was coming from a nearby home, flooding neighboring yards, and the resident had not been seen for several days, according to sheriff's Sgt. Dave Tinker.
While checking the home, deputies found the leak and stopped the flowing water. They didn't find the resident, but they did discover a large indoor marijuana grow. A search warrant was obtained, and more than 2,000 marijuana plants were seized by deputies, according to Tinker.
