Motorist Injured In Two-Vehicle Collision Near Lake Mathews
The victim's car collided with the box truck, leaving the smaller vehicle stuck and the driver unable to get out, the CHP reported.

LAKE MATHEWS, CA — A motorist escaped serious injury Friday in a two- vehicle wreck south of Lake Mathews that left his vehicle wedged underneath a truck, trapping him inside.
The crash was reported about 2:20 p.m. at 15772 Lake Mathews Drive, near Valley Street, in an unincorporated community known as Gavilan Hills, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The victim's car collided with the box truck, leaving the smaller vehicle stuck and the driver unable to get out, the CHP reported.

Riverside County Fire Department personnel arrived less than 10 minutes later and deployed industrial saws and prying gear to extricate the victim, whose name was not released.
The extrication operation was completed in 15 minutes, and the motorist was taken to a hospital for treatment of apparent minor injuries, according to reports from the scene.

The other driver was not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation.
