Probationer Nabbed For Vehicle Theft, Drugs: RivCo Sheriff

PERRIS, CA — A stolen vehicle was recovered early Wednesday in Perris, and the thief was found with drugs and burglary tools, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Victor Hernandez, 27, a probationer living in Perris, was taken into custody around 3:36 a.m. after a deputy spotted him in a "suspicious vehicle" at a gas station located at North Perris Boulevard and West Nuevo Road, according to a report from Sgt. Steve Staton.
The deputy ran a check on the license plate and discovered the vehicle had been stolen two days prior. A search of Hernandez and the vehicle turned up 3.5 pounds of marijuana, small amounts of heroin, methamphetamine, numerous syringes and burglary tools, according to Staton.

Hernandez was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on numerous charges, and the stolen vehicle was returned to its owner, Staton said.
