RivCo Corrections Deputy Arrested On Suspicion Of Sexual Battery: Sheriff
He also faces a charge of false imprisonment, according to the sheriff's office.
JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A correctional deputy for the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office is on leave after he was arrested on suspicion of sexual battery and false imprisonment, authorities said.
Yash Patel, 29, was arrested Saturday in Jurupa Valley and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on the two counts, according to the sheriff’s office. The agency’s special investigations bureau conducted a probe into the off-duty allegations, authorities said.
Patel has worked for the sheriff’s office since 2021 and most recently was assigned to the Robert Presley Detention Center, according to the agency, which said he was put on paid administrative leave following his arrest, pending an administrative investigation.

“The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office holds its employees to the highest standards of professionalism and accountability,” the agency said in a news release. “Allegations of misconduct are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly.”
