Sawed-Off Rifle Found In Vehicle Of Lake Elsinore 'Gang Member': Cops

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A "documented criminal street gang member" from Lake Elsinore remained jailed Thursday after he was found with a sawed-off short-barreled .22 caliber bolt action rifle in his vehicle, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Chuchie Ceja, 41, was arrested Wednesday afternoon in the 21000 block of Olive Street in the unincorporated area east of Lake Elsinore known as Good Hope.

Members of the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force Region 6 Perris/Lake Elsinore pulled Ceja over and did a vehicle search after he was found to be driving without a license, the sheriff's department reported.

The weapon was found and Ceja was arrested without incident, according to the department.

Ceja is being held at Riverside's Robert Presley Detention Center in lieu of $10,000 bail, jail records show.

According to court records, Ceja is due to be arraigned Aug. 24 on misdemeanor drug charges and driving without a license stemming from a May 27 incident.

Ceja has no felony convictions in Riverside County, according to court records.
