Shutdown Of Southbound I-215 Due To Motorcycle Fatality

PERRIS, CA — A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday morning in a crash with a vehicle on southbound Interstate 215 in Perris and a stretch of the southbound lanes of the freeway were closed.

Officers responded to the accident scene near Harley Knox Boulevard about 1:40 a.m. and found the rider down in the No. 1 lane and debris across the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the crash was under investigation and no arrests were immediately reported.

The name of the victim was not disclosed.
