SUV Driver Plunges Off I-15/SR-91 Connector

The driver went over the side of the ramp and landed 100 feet below, upright.

CORONA, CA — An SUV plunged off a freeway connector bridge in Corona Friday, landing in a culvert and leaving the driver with moderate injuries.

The crash was reported about 4:05 p.m. at the northbound Interstate 15 transition to the westbound Riverside (91) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The agency said that the Buick SUV went over the side of the ramp and landed 100 feet below, upright.

The driver stepped out of the vehicle bleeding from the face and immediately sat down, according to reports from the scene.

No other vehicles were involved.

CHP officers shut down one lane on the 91 for the safety of first responders.

The victim, whose identity was not released, was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
