Two Men Gunned Down, Killed On RivCo Street

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene, according to sheriff's officials.

MORENO VALLEY, CA — Riverside County sheriff's investigators Friday were working to sort out details connected to the shooting deaths of two Moreno Valley men attacked in a residential area on the east end of the city.

The victims, whose identities were not immediately released, were gunned down shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday in the 27000 block of Auburn Lane, just south of Cactus Avenue.

According to sheriff's Sgt. Steve Brosche, deputies were called to the location to investigate reports of an assault and found the men in the roadway.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

No information was released regarding a possible motive or circumstances behind the deadly attack.

Brosche also did not disclose whether Central Homicide detectives had identified any suspects. However, he noted there are "no threats to the public."
