Do you have a creative flair? The city of Wildomar wants you!

The Wildomar Multi-Use Trails Association, a non-profit committee that was recently created to inform and connect people with the network of multi-use trails throughout the city, is looking for art students, community members and the general public to create a logo, theme and/or tagline that encompasses the multi-use trail system, according to a news release from committee secretary Kristan Lloyd.

(See attached draft map for a look at city trails. The map must still be approved by the city.)

The invitation to submit works of art, concepts and designs will be open until November 15, 2011 and will then go before the board for consideration. Submit as many designs as you wish! The chosen artwork will be incorporated and featured into the literature and featured on the website and will become property of the Wildomar Multi-Use Trails to use at its discretion.

“The multi-use trail system is used specifically for walking, hiking, running, mountain and street biking and horseback riding. It excludes any motorized vehicles other than wheelchairs,” according to the news release.

“Our goal is to provide a user-friendly trail system that encourages residents to enjoy the open spaces and conservation land within the city of Wildomar. We encourage people to see a different perspective of Wildomar by exploring our trails and parts of the city never seen from the roadways,” according to the news release.

“The Trails Committee is responsible for developing new trails and maintaining the existing trails network within the city of Wildomar,” according to the release.

One of the committee’s future goals is to “evaluate trail routes, consider safety issues, address parking and access, mark new trails, and revise the trails map to reflect additions and changes.  We also hope to organize hikes and work parties and are always looking for more participants,” the release stated.

Each month the Trails Committee meets to discuss the status of ongoing projects, plan new projects, schedule work parties, update our trails projects list of current and future tasks, and report on problems and discuss solutions.

The committee is next meeting Sept. 29; call 951-444-5982 for more information.

Please send artwork submissions to Wildomar Multi-Use Trails Association, P.O. Box 1476, Wildomar, CA 92595 or e-mail to WMUTAsecretary@gmail.com.
