Anaheim Restaurant Damaged In Severe Blaze

A fire that blazed through an under-construction restaurant in Anaheim caused significant damage to the building. Did you see the smoke?

ANAHEIM, CA — A restaurant under construction caught fire Tuesday turning into a significant blaze, with smoke seen for miles, according to witnesses.

The fire broke out just after 1:30 p.m. at 321 S. Magnolia Ave., Anaheim Police Sgt. Daron Wyatt said. One firefighter twisted an ankle battling the flames.

The restaurant, which was being built in a strip mall at the site, sustained "heavy fire damage," Wyatt said. Surrounding structures sustained smoke damage, he added.

It took 30 minutes to knock down the fire, Wyatt said.

At this time it is not known what caused the fire or the amount of damages that were sustained by the fire.
