Bank Robbery Suspect Captured In Lake Forest: OCSD

The man who walked into a Stater Bros. and robbed a Wells Fargo Bank was behind bars Tues. after allegedly stealing "a large sum of money."

LAKE FOREST, CA — One week ago, a suspect walked into a Lake Forest Stater Bros. Wells Fargo, and walked out with "a large sum of money," according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

On Tuesday, the 36-year-old man is behind bars on charges of kidnapping and robbing three bank tellers from that location, court records obtained Tuesday show.

Tyler Justinrobe Brown, who was arrested last Wednesday, pleaded not guilty Friday to three counts of kidnapping and one count of first-degree robbery.

The robbery happened about 7 p.m. Sept. 24 at a Wells Fargo branch inside a Stater Bros. grocery store at 22351 El Toro Road.

Brown entered the bank just about the time it closed and allegedly fled with a a hefty amount of cash, according to Carrie Braun of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Brown is being held without bail pending an Oct. 9 pretrial hearing at the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach.
