Big Rig Crash Cause 5 Freeway SigAlert in Lake Forest
The early morning crash shut down the carpool lane for nearly two hours.
LAKE FOREST, CA - A collision between a big rig and a car temporarily blocked a lane on the San Diego (5) Freeway in Lake Forest this morning, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The collision on the southbound 5 Freeway at El Toro Road, on the border between Lake Forest and Laguna Woods, took place about 4:30 a.m., according to the CHP. The crash shut down the carpool lane while authorities worked to remove both vehicles, according to the CHP.
A SigAlert was declared by the CHP at 4:49 a.m. The lane was expected to remain closed until at least 6 a.m.
