Boy Saves Sister in Lake Forest Area Near Drowning

A brother saved his baby sister when he discovered her in their backyard swimming pool over the weekend, Orange County Fire Authority says.

LAKE FOREST, CA โ€” A scare for an Orange County family this weekend when their toddler fell into the backyard swimming pool.

A 2-year-old girl who fell into a swimming pool this evening was rescued by her 5-year-old brother, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.

The young girl was with her brother and mother when fell into the water at the pool at 1000 Crested Bird, OC Fire Authority spokesman Stephen Horner said.

She was submerged for less than a minute before her older brother, who celebrating his fifth birthday party, pulled her out, Horner said. The fire department responded about 5:15 p.m. and assisted in reviving the girl with CPR life saving measures.

"She is now conscious and breathing and at the hospital," Horner said.

Adults are reminded to involve a "water watcher" when children are swimming or playing around either public or private, backyard swimming pools.
