Car Hits Woman Crossing Portola Parkway
She was taken to the hospital with a possible broken leg and head injury. Police found her lying in the street.
A woman went to the hospital after being struck by a car in the area of Portola Parkway and Pauling/Towne Centre Drive on Thursday, police say.
About 11:35 a.m., a Lake Forest deputy spotted the woman lying in the northbound lanes of Portola Parkway, said Sgt. Angel Andrade. Additional officers and paramedics responded.
It appears that a vehicle had been turning north onto Portola from westbound Pauling lanes when it struck the woman, who was crossing the street. She was treated at the scene and taken to Mission Medical Center with a possible fractured leg and bleeding to the brain, Andrade said.

The incident remains under investigation, Andrade said.
