STARS Volunteers contributed nearly 7,000 hours to help Police services
More than 50 people showed up to honor Lake Forest STARS volunteers who gave nearly 7,000 hours of service to the City in 2014.
STARS stands for Sheriff’s team of Active Retired Seniors and this group of seniors had some really active people. One of them gave more than 1,000 hours in 2014, and many others gave in excess of 200 hours.
STARS volunteers work under Police supervision and perform many routine tasks like vacation home checks, business checks, assisting in Neighborhood Watch programs, van patrol, radar display board trailer, assisting both Code Enforcement and Public Works, City Park Watch, clerical support, and special events.
