Diary of a Charger: Male Cheer Brings Tears of Laughter

EL Toro water polo player Emily Browning shares her journal for the week ending March 25.

Hello again!

This has been a fun week! It started off last Saturday with having club games in Santa Barbara. The best part of the weekends is getting to sleep in, but instead I got to wake up super early to drive there with my Mom. Our team won two games and tied the third. I think we all played well together for our first games and I am very much looking forward to upcoming tournaments.

At school the Dodgeball Tournament is still going on and its getting closer to the finals. My team won our third game and we play again this coming Monday.

This week at school went by really slowly mostly because everyone was looking forward to the pep rally on Friday. The assembly theme was "Lights, Chargers, Action!" The pep rally started off with a video being shown with the ASB kids re-enacting movies; they turned out hilarious! After all of the spring sports came out dressed up as different movie characters. Then the winner of Mr. Charger preformed the dance from the movie "Napoleon Dynamite." But what everyone was most looking forward to at the pep rally was male cheer. Male cheer is done every year at the spring rally and is only for senior boys. Seeing some of my guy friends dancing in cheer uniform and wearing makeup was very amusing!

Thanks for reading!
