Drones and the City

City policy with regard to drones

The Grand Jury put out a report entitled “Drones” and asked the cities to respond to some of their inquiries. Lake Forest has done so and here’s a summary of our responses –

City Ordinance – there are no plans for the City to regulate this practice. The City is waiting to see what the State and/or the FAA do.

Education – there are no plans for the City to conduct classes in this area. However, the City does plan to issue one e-new article and one website posting on this topic, and will provide links to relevant agencies (e.g., OCSD, FAA)

Incidence – the City has no idea how many people are using drones in City limits nor how many accidents, if any, related to drone have happened.
