Happy Birthday, Mickey Mouse! The World Celebrates with Disney's Favorite Character
Friday, Nov. 18 is Mickey Mouse's birthday. Celebrating with a trip around the world, Mickey has delighted fans and friends worldwide.

Mickey Mouse, in celebration of his 88th birthday, is sharing his fun-loving smile with the world. With his new Instagram account, @MickeyMouse, and more than 13 million Facebook fans, he continues to show why he is the world's favorite character.
Mickey has taken selfies across the world in preparation for his big day, sharing things like rare views of China– which have been viewed more than 25,000 times on Instagram. Some of his other stops included Los Angeles, Kyoto, Shanghai, Rome, Paris, Rio, Cusco and, of course, sunny southern California.
"All of these magical moments chronicling Mickey’s global adventures will be captured and shared on Disney’s Mickey Mouse Facebook page, culminating with the debut of a video highlighting Mickey’s travels featuring an upbeat new song 'What We Got,'" said Jeffery Epstein, director of Corporate Communications for the Walt Disney Company. "Mickey fans are encouraged to join the celebration on social media using #HappyBirthdayMickey."

On Friday, Mickey will join the "Good Morning America" crew for a birthday bash and showcase his world travels.

What's more, the Disney Channel will air blocks of Mickey Mouse programming throughout the day, including two new series premiers with the Disney Junior "Mickey and the Roadster Racers." Meanwhile, at the Disneyland and Walt Disney World theme parks, special parade moments will mark the occasion.

That's one busy mouse.
Mickey, who premiered in "Steamboat Willie" at the Colony Theater in New York City on Nov. 18, 1928, has since starred in more than 100 cartoons both on and off the big screen.
