Important City Website Page Down

Ability to log on to Council agenda compromised

Between Thursday and Sunday when I went up to the City website to study the agenda, the website agenda page was down on at least two occasions. The message was –

This follows the well-publicized hacking incident reported earlier, but I don’t think the two are related. Regardless, it is unacceptable for the City’s website to be down, especially for access to the agenda for upcoming City Council meetings to be inaccessible to the People.

The City provides a separate access for City Council members, however, by choice I do not use this system as I believe it is incumbent upon me to have access to the same information that the People use, and not a separate system.

I relayed my concerns to the City Manager and hope that this does not happen in the future. In the meantime I apologize to everyone that the City has done such a poor job on this occasion when we are about to discuss one of the most important issues – our budget.

I ask you to check back from time to time in the hopes that the website page is restored.
