
Lake Forest has a communication system called ASK LAKE FOREST available on the city website (Click Here). It allows people to correspond with the City, ask questions, report problems, etc. The City accumulates the requests and reports quarterly. Here are the highlights for the 4th quarter of 2016 –
- 4% increase compared to the 3rd quarter
- Parking enforcement was the highest area (15%), followed by street maintenance (13%) and code enforcement (10%). All 3 areas showed increases from 3rd quarter.
- City Council comments (-71%) and public record requests (-157%) decreased compared to 3rd quarter.
- Among parking enforcement, the major concerns were violations of 72 hour limits and parking oversized vehicles.
- Among street maintenance, the main concerns were potholes and street displacements.
- Among code enforcement, the main concerns were property maintenance, public nuisances, and signage complaints.
Looking at all of 2016, the main categories were –
- Parking enforcement – 12.9%
- Street maintenance – 10.9%
- Code enforcement – 9.2%
- City Council – 7.4%
- Landscape/tree maintenance – 7.2%
- Public safety – 5.7%
- Park maintenance – 5.7%
- Graffiti – 4%
- Building permits/inspections – 3.8%
- Animal Control – 3.4%
The total number of tickets submitted in 2016 was 1,378. In 2015 we received 2,299 tickets.
