Jarred Romley, Director of Marketing and Events for South County Outreach, accepts over 340 Mother's Day gift bags from Christine Anzell and Jack Levenson, owners of The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest

After a month of offering jewelry repair discounts in exchange for donations of health and beauty products, The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest donated 341 Mother's Day gift bags to South County Outreach. The goody bags will be (or were) distributed to moms in need the week leading up to Mother's Day.

This is the second year the local jewelry store has run the drive; they more than doubled the number of gifts donated in 2013. Owners Christine Anzell and Jack Levenson gave jewelry and watch repair customers a 10% discount in exchange for donations to fill the bags. Items from make-up and lotions to soaps, dental care, even mani/pedi sets with flip-flops included came in from local customers as well as other folks who saw the drive on The Jewelry Box's FaceBook page. A package arrived from Virginia.

When visiting Outreach headquarters in Irvine, children get (or got) to choose a bag to present to their mom on Mother's Day.
