Jewelry Box Opens Sister Store
The new store, located in Laguna Woods, is primarily focused on gold-buying.

Gold-buying will be the focus of the new site, which recently opened its doors in Suite M atĀ 24310 Moulton Pkwy., in the Vons shopping center at El Toro Road and Moulton, according to the store owners. Its employees will also evaluate and purchase other valuable metals, jewelry and collectibles.
Owners Christine Anzell and Jack Levensonāwho recently at their main Lake Forest Drive siteāsaid that the goal behind opening a shop in Laguna Woods is to better serve residents in that area.

Anzell said that many Laguna Woods residents have valuable heirlooms, such as sterling-silver flatware or jewelry, that they want to sell. However, fly-by-night buyers who come through town on occasion often pay less than what the items are truly worth, she said.
"I really hate to see them get taken advantage off," she said. "Having us there everyday will also keep the money in this community."

Another benefit of the new location is the elimination of transportation hassles for customers who don't drive, thanks to Laguna Woods' extensive bus system, Levenson said.
Witnessing a customer nearly collapse on a bench outside of the after getting off the bus too early and walking the rest of the way to the jewelry store assured the owners of the Jewelry Box that opening the Laguna Woods store was the right choice, Levenson said.
"I said to [Anzell]: 'I know we did the right thing,' he said. "We genuinely feel we'll be providing a service for them."
Three new employees will run the Jewelry Box Gold Buyers store Monday through Saturday each week. Its hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. during the work week and 9:30 a.m. through 3 p.m. Saturdays. Reach the store atĀ (949) 587-3000.
