She has been able to successfully create a floating island which helps keep Lake 1 clean and provide a refuge for wildlife. In addition she spearheaded the conversion of nearly 50% of Lake 1's grass into attractive drought tolerant landscaping . Last year she was recognized by the City for her volunteer work with the Garden Club as well as Soroptimists and Breast Cancer Survivors.
