Lake Forest Could See Power Shutoff Overnight Amid Santa Ana Wind

SoCal Edison prepared to shut down portions of the power grid, including in the city of Lake Forest, due to high fire dangers.

LAKE FOREST, CA —Southern California Edison is considering a Public Safety Power Shutoff of Lake Forest electrical lines due to fire weather conditions, Tuesday.

Southern California Edison, like other power providers across the state, watches for extreme fire conditions in areas of high fire danger. When a threat is perceived, they will stop the flow of power to certain areas. When it is safe to do so, once crews inspect power lines, they will restore power.

"SCE will pay for qualified spoilage claimsfor food and medicine to eligible customers," they say.
