Lake Forest Councilman James Gardner gets bashed for negativity as he gears up for Recall

Here are the comments from Councilman James Gardner's latest attack piece against a colleague here on the Patch:

VoicenLF: "Sadly, Mr. Gardner has learned nothing from his two years of sitting on the Dias and using his position as a city councilman to attack, defame and badger other council members publicly through his hit piece blog. Don't think private citizens with a different opinion , experience or viewpoint are immune from his anger, rancor and personal attacks, he just does it privately. Trump uses Twitter, Gardner uses the Patch."

LFOldTimer: "There's a big difference between Gardner and Trump. Trump uses twitter to defend himself against mostly unfair attacks made by others. I don't blame him.

Gardner attacks for sport. If he offered new criticisms of public value I would support it. But he just rehashes the same old stuff over and over and over again. Like the neighborhood gossip.

It stinks of pure vengeance and spite. The time would be better spent concentrating on existing problems in the city. And there's more than enough of those to keep him busy."

Bill Bowman: "Dr. Cooper, what have you accomplished in the past two years? You've written hundreds of mostly bile filled tomes on this venue, sponsored not one but two recall efforts of your colleagues which the taxpayers will pay for, and you've employed loons and felons in those efforts. You've effectively accomplished nothing as a councilman because you haven't the slightest idea what collaboration means. Oh right, you did vote with your colleagues to approve the building of that hotel on the Gateway property. But then you claimed you didn't. What a complete fraud you are."

Hypocrisy Watch: "This guy is not normal. Who would spend all that time writing blogs that refer to prior blogs or repeat the same old stuff. And another recall? Boy, that will encourage the cream of the crop to seek the CM position. Give it a rest, Jim."

LFOldTimer: "That's another consideration. What CM of any quality or talent wants to spend his time being a perpetual mediator between the Hatfield's and the McCoy's? I would think long and hard before stepping in between that battle.

Take your gloves off next election. Election season is only a year away. In the meantime let's concentrate on making Lake Forest a better city for the residents.

Summary

It is just Councilman Gardner's nature to attack, demean, defame and badger. I really hope he changes, but realistically, I don't think it is going to happen.
