Lake Forest Family Mourns 15-Year-Old Drowning Victim

A 15-year-old Georgia boy was found, unconscious in his Aunt's Lake Forest backyard swimming pool on Aug. 1.

LAKE FOREST, CA—A 15-year-old Georgia native, on vacation in Southern California at his Aunt's Lake Forest residence, was found unconscious at the bottom of the family swimming pool at just before 5 p.m. Monday.

"Orange County Fire Authority responded to the scene, in the 24000 block of Bark Street," according to Capt. Larry Kurtz. "The boy was swimming at his aunt's home, visiting from Georgia. Kids at the home found the 15-year-old at the bottom of the pool."

The family pulled the boy out of the pool and performed CPR until paramedic units arrived, according to Kurtz.

"The patient was transported to Saddleback Memorial Medical Center, in Laguna Hills," he said.

The Orange County Coroner reported that the initial injury was that the boy was unresponsive in a residential pool. He was pronounced deceased at just before 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1.

"The boy's family is reportedly on their way to Orange County from Georgia today," Kurtz stated.
