Lake Forest Recalls City Councilman Hamilton

Unofficial results are in, from the Lake Forest special election to determine whether city councilmember Andrew Hamilton should be recalled.

LAKE FOREST, CA — The ballots have been cast and the votes are unofficially counted and thewith an overwhelming majority calling for Lake Forest City Councilman Andrew Hamilton's removal from office on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

With over 44,000 registered Lake Forest voters, just over 6,500 votes were cast amounting to just under 15-percent deciding Hamilton's fate.

Of the votes, 73-percent stated Hamilton should be removed from his spot on the Lake Forest City Council, while just under 27-percent voted for him to remain.

Of the candidates who threw their hat in the ring, should the recall succeed, Tom Cagley was the big winner, earning over 50-percent of the votes, with Mark Tettemer next in line with 22-percent. Other candidates, each with less than 10-percent of the votes included Neeki Moatazedi, Frank Wagoner, David Glick and Stan Yombo.
