Long Beach Man Charged in Series of Irvine Burglaries
In spring of 2016, over 14 robberies took place in Irvine's Woodbury neighborhood. Now, a 25-year-old Long Beach man has been charged.

IRVINE, CA—A 25-year-old Long Beach man was charged today with 14 residential burglaries and two attempted break-ins from late April through May in Irvine's Woodbury neighborhood.

Arraignment was scheduled this afternoon for Willy San, who was arrested Friday near his residence and held on $500,000 bail, according to Farrah Emami of the Irvine Police Department.
The first burglary he allegedly committed was on April 28, and the final break-in was May 27, according to court records.

"An Irvine woman called police on May 13 when a man she did not know knocked on her door and asked for someone who did not live there," Emami said. "The resident called police because it felt suspicious."
Another neighbor two doors down called police when she saw a suspect jump a side gate into her backyard, Emami said.

The woman shouted at the man,who jumped back over the gate and ran to a vehicle.
The neighbor jotted down the license plate number of the car, which led police to San, who is suspected of renting the vehicle, Emami said.
