Over 100 people showed up for the City’s “Special needs” dance last week. What made the dance even more special was the appearance of 8 members of the U.S. Marine Corps Law Enforcement Battalion. The 5 men and 3 women joined in the festivities, and their dance cards were kept busy from the excited young men and women in attendance.
Among the helpers were Parks and Recreation Committee members Loretta Herrin (shown in picture) and Jim Rosenberg. Also on hand was the new Community Services Director Scott Wasserman.
In July the City plans to hold another Special needs dance to honor the arrival of athletes from all over the world who are being hosted in Lake Forest in preparation for the World Special Olympic games in Los Angeles.
