LAKE FOREST, CA — A vehicle struck a gas pump and erupted into flames on Sunday night at a Lake Forest gas station.

At approximately 7:45 p.m. a 2004 Mercedes swerved into the USA Gas Station at the 23000 block of El Toro Road, crashing into a gas pump according to OCFA reports.

"As the driver backed away from the fuel pump a fire started," Orange County Fire Department Captain Paul Holaday said. 'The attendant saw the fire and turned off the emergency gas valve."
