Former Orange County Supervisor John Moorlach has been certified to replace Mimi Walters in the state senate with 50.3 percent of the vote.

“While we came up short, our strong showing demonstrates that the people of Orange County share my belief that only through advancing pro-growth economic policies and reducing the size and scope of government will we get California back on track,” Wagner wrote on his campaign’s Facebook page.
“I’ll continue to fight for these values throughout the remainder of my term in the Assembly, and look forward to working with John in Sacramento towards advancing the reforms I truly believe will fix our great state.”
Moorlach’s swearing in ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. at the Orange County Rescue Mission’s Village of Hope in Tustin. Moorlach will be sworn in by Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff, R-Diamond Bar.
The district includes Costa Mesa, Irvine, Lake Forest, Laguna Beach, Laguna Woods, Newport Beach, Tustin and Villa Park as well as portions of Anaheim Hills, Huntington Beach and most of Orange.
