Firefighters Spot Mobile Home Blaze During Unrelated Call: OCFA
OCFA engines attacked a mobile home fire at the resident owned Kimberly Gardens community, on Muirlands, Wednesday evening.

LAKE FOREST, CA -- The Orange County Fire Authority engine 22 happened to be in the right place at the right time for a Lake Forest family.
"They were on an unrelated medical call approximately five units away when the engineer saw the smoke," OCFA Capt. Larry Kurtz said
That engineer took it upon himself to investigate and discovered a mobile home to be ablaze.

More engines responded to that scene of the well-involved mobile home fire, Wednesday evening at the 24900 block of Muirlands Rd.
By the time the fire was put down "26 Firefighters were at the scene, and making good progress," Kurtz said.

Three adults in the residence were all accounted for with no injuries, though they are displaced due to the blaze.

"As of 5:45 p.m. OCFA firefighters were attempting to locate pets that were reported as missing," Kurtz said.
Later, the family told Patch that their dog, Smores, did not survive the fire. A family cat also was killed in the blaze while two other cats did survive. The Red Cross is assisting the family according to OCFA.
OCFA Investigators were working to determine the cause of the fire.
There was no word as to estimated damages as of this report.
