OC Public Defender's Office Demolished Tuesday
The outdated building will be replaced with a modern, brand new building for the employees of the County of Orange.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Members of the Orange County Board of Supervisors commemorated the demolition of the aging and outdated Public Defender's Office, Tuesday.
The building will be replaced with a modern, brand new building for the employees of the County of Orange to work in, according to Supervisor Michelle Steele.
In 2013 the County of Orange selected Griffin Structures to undertake the Civic Center Facilities Strategic Plan to assess the County’s long-term building needs.

The findings identified that the average age of Civic Center buildings was 47 years old.
Understandably, the increased deferred-maintenance costs due to the aging infrastructure was a made a high priority by the then Board of Supervisors.

“In 2017 the County Board of Supervisors adopted its 20-year Civic Center Strategic Plan and today is another step in fulfilling that plan,” said Chairwoman Steel. “We are looking forward to the hard work and dedication that will go into the construction of this next stage of building.”
