Bomb Threat Creates Traffic Havoc In Lake Forest
Orange County Sheriff's Department officers and bomb squad responded to a threat in the area when a man on a bus said he had a bomb.

LAKE FOREST, CA — Orange County Sheriff's Department responded to a bomb threat in Lake Forest, on El Toro Road, Friday afternoon. An Orange County Transit Authority passenger allegedly "made a criminal threat about having an explosive device on the bus," Carrie Braun of the OCSD told Patch.
The sheriff's department was called to the scene and the suspect was detained during the incident, Braun said. Officials called upon the OCSD Bomb Squad to investigate the bus, however, after a thorough investigation, no bomb or explosive material was found.
Officers closed the roadway during the investigation and OCTA rerouted all passengers. Businesses in the area were temporarily evacuated during the search and investigation.

The OCTA deputies arrested the suspect for making a false report of a bomb, and his name was not yet released as of this report.
Roads were set to reopen to through traffic as of 3:30 p.m.

#OCSDPIO Today an individual on an OCTA bus in Lake Forest potentially claimed to have an explosive device. He was detained, the bus was evacuated, and El Toro Rd where the bus was located was shut down. The OCSD Bomb Squad responded and determined there was no device on the bus.
