Police Arrest Man, 74, in Wife's Death

The husband of a woman found dead today in a Mission Viejo home was arrested on suspicion of killing her.

Gary Lee Parsons, 74, was involved in a fight with his 73-year-old wife Barbara, causing her fatal injuries, Orange County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Jeff Hallock said.

Investigators have not determined a motive for the victim’s death, and its cause was under investigation by the coroner, Hallock said.

Parsons was booked into the Orange County Jail. His bail was set at $1 million, Hallock said.

The fight occurred at the couple’s home in the 27000 block of Pueblonuevo Drive, and the victim’s body was discovered at 12:35 p.m., Hallock said.
