Red Hot Chili Peppers Cancel Irvine Performance After Lead Singer Hospitalized
Anthony Kiedis reportedly began to suffer, "extreme stomach pain."

IRVINE, CA - The Red Hot Chili Peppers cancelled Saturday's appearance at the KROQ Weenie Roast in Irvine after lead singer Anthony Kiedis was hospitalized.
A KROQ representative told Billboard that Kiedis was taken to the hospital when he began experiencing, "extreme stomach pain."

Drummer Chad Smith tweeted the following after the band announced the show was cancelled.

After Kiedis was hospitalized, the remaining band members came onstage to tell the crowd about the cancellation.
"Anthony is on his way to the hospital right now and we're unable to play this evening," band bassist Flea told the crowd. "We are devastated about it. We're really sad. We love you so much. We live to rock."

Flea promised the crowd the band would play for them very soon, "like the ferrel animals that we are."
The band was headlining the concert that also featured Panic! at the Disco, Garbage, Cold War Kids, Fitz and the Tantrums, Empire of the Sun and Weezer.
The Red Hot Chili Pepper's next performance is scheduled for May 17 in Burbank.
