Robinson Under Investigation
FPPC launches investigation into Robinson's financial activities.
We’ve documented so many instances in which Councilman Dwight Robinson has lied, mis-represented, and/or broken promises that it was inevitable that someone would look into it. For the latest summary of Robinson’s broken promises, lies, misrepresentations, etc, see below -

Just because a case has been opened doesn’t mean that Robinson is guilty, although by Robinson’s ethical standards it does. Two years ago when Adam Nick was named as a “person of interest” in some missing signs, Robinson didn’t wait for him to be charged, tried, or convicted. He immediately called for his resignation. It turns out they had no case against Nick and an embarrassed District Attorney dropped the charges. Robinson never apologized for jumping the gun.
(Interestingly enough, Robinson at the same time he was asking for Nick’s resignation was caught “stealing” signs from cars in the Sports Park lot, and even threatening a grandmother and her grandchildren who were passing out the signs. Robinson was not arrested for this behavior by the same Police Force who donated $15,000 to help Robinson during the recall. Yet Nick was hassled for doing a lot less).
The complaint against Robinson is a serious one, and not like the frivolous complaints filed by an anonymous person using the name James Huston, which many people believe is an alias used by Robinson's protege Andrew Hamilton. According to the FPPC letter, there is a sworn complaint against Robinson. By submitting a "sworn complaint" instead of an anonymous complaint the person making the complaint opens him or her self up for legal action if the complaint is false. That, especially, is worth noting as we head into the vote for City Council on Tuesday.
