Save the Date: The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest 1 Day Restyling Event is April 14th

On Tuesday, April 14th, old fine jewelry is getting a new lease on life at The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest’s One Day Restyling Event. “Sometimes really beautiful diamonds and colored gemstones wind up trapped in rings that nobody wants to wear,” says The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest co-owner Christine Anzell. “During this special event, people can bring in their jewelry they don’t like and have it transformed into pieces they love while they wait!”

“Joseph Hershon, an expert jeweler who specializes in remounts, will be bringing more than 400 dazzling mounts and semi-mounts customers can choose from,” explained Jack Levenson, co-owner. “Your diamonds and colored gemstones can be used to create a new ring, a pendant, a bracelet or even earrings.” The cost of having your jewelry restyled varies with the new mounting you choose, but it’s a fraction of having a custom piece designed for you.

There are a number of reasons people choose to have their fine jewelry restyled. In some cases, they simply don’t like the style of the jewelry the stones are set in. In other instances, the jewelry is damaged, doesn’t fit, or has bad memories associated with it. “There’s something really satisfying about seeing your old jewelry take on a new form,” Levenson added. “People really enjoy being able to watch the process as their jewelry is restyled. That’s not the type of thing you get to see every day, and there’s a real artistry to it. Your new jewelry comes with the added bonus of this unique experience.”

“Having so many settings set out to choose from is really a lot of fun,” Anzell said. “Many times, people come to this event not knowing exactly what they’re looking for. They know they don’t like the way the jewelry they have looks, but they’re not sure what the possibilities for improvement really are. Being able to see all of the different options is great. It’s an inspiring, eye-opening experience.”

Appointments aren’t required for The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest’s One Day Restyling Event, but they are encouraged. You just might find a setting you fall in love with!”
