Senior Center Review Set for October 20
This is your chance to participate in the process.

I noted earlier this week (Click Here) that progress on the new Senior Center is moving along, finally. We’ve added more than 4,000 square feet to the building, and we’re now at the point of making decisions about the interior layout and the exterior. Personally I wasn’t too excited about the exterior look (too much stone) nor the interior layout (not enough space for social interaction) but the plans are not yet finalized. The City will have a meeting to share the plans with everyone on October 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at City Hall.
Meanwhile, the Senior Advisory Board has openings and the deadline to apply is Friday, Oct 28. Here’s a link to the City’s website.

Getting the Senior Center (and the Civic Center) out of the dust and into reality has been one of my top priorities. Along with Councilman Nick I’ve attended the planning meetings and now it’s exciting to see all of our planning coming to fruition. But now is the most important time to get your input. The Senior and Civic centers are for us, the residents. We need to participate in the process.
I hope to see you on October 20.
