Theft of campaign signs escalates

The sign wars saga reached new levels when a 10 foot by 10 foot banner was stolen from the Mobile Gas Station during the early hours of Friday morning.

Previously nearly 25% of the signs from the challengers have been stolen, and more than twice that many have been knocked over or obscured.

Stealing signs has always been a problem, but it escalated in 2010 and worsened in 2012. 2014 now represents a new low in what campaign supporters will do to get their candidates elected.

Earlier this year I asked all the candidates to agree to a voluntary moratorium on signs in public places. All but Voigts, Hamilton, and McCullough agreed.
