The blaze was at a metal electroplating and anodizing facility in Irvine.

IRVINE, CA --- Fire damaged a metal electroplating and anodizing business Sunday in Irvine, authorities said.
The blaze was reported at 2:30 p.m. at Electrolurgy, Inc., at 1121 Duryea Ave., Capt. Steve Concialdi of the Orange County Fire Department said.
"The fire was held in check by sprinklers,'' Concialdi said.

Firefighters extinguished the fire at 2:55 p.m. The flames reached a vat of liquid Chromate, and due to a number of
chemicals in the building used to plate and anodize metals, seven firefighters had to go through decontamination when they left the building.
There were no injuries.

Thirty-five firefighters responded to the blaze, Concialdi said.
The building was declared uninhabitable. Because of the chemicals inside, investigators will wait a few days to enter the building to try to determine the cause.
