Traffic Alert: Tire Bounces Across Into Cars During Morning Commute

California Highway Patrol reported two vehicles struck by a whole tire bouncing across I-5 on Wednesday.

LAKE FOREST, CA — Several Orange County commuters were struck by a bouncing tire rolling across the I-5 near Jamboree Road offramp near Lake Forest on Wednesday morning.

California Highway Patrol reported a whole tire in the slow lane at just after 9:30 a.m. that was struck then bounced across lanes, striking two vehicles according to the report.

"A traffic break was requested at I-5 northbound at Culver to get the tire" CHP said.

The responding individual who called 911 stated that the tire struck two vehicles, a Toyota and a Chrysler of unknown make, both that pulled over to the right shoulder.

California Highway Patrol officers were unaware of a vehicle that might have lost the offending tire.
