Two Deputies Injured In Brawl With Female Inmate

The incident was at the Intake and Release Center in Santa Ana.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA --- Two female Orange County deputies were injured Saturday in a confrontation with a female inmate at the Intake and Release Center in Santa Ana, authorities said.

It happened about 5 a.m. in the jail facility at 550 North Flower St., Orange County sheriff's Lt. Mark Stichter told City News Service.

"A female deputy was conducting morning feeding of female inmates at the IRC. While feeding, the deputy wound up involved in a fight with a female adult inmate,'' Stichter said.

The second deputy was hurt assisting the first deputy, he said.

"The deputies were treated and released at a hospital,'' Stichter said.
