Attended by over 100 business owners and co-sponsored by the Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce and the City, this free expo is designed for current and prospective entrepreneurs seeking to grow and prosper their business in their given industry. Business owners will visit various business resource booths and form collaborative business partnerships. Refreshments will be provided.

· May 14 – Clean Up Aliso Creek (9 am to 11:30 am – Cherry Av & Fernback St)

Help fight the battle against litter and debris with the City of Lake Forest and Wal-Mart! Join other Lake Forest residents, community groups and City staff in removing litter from a portion of the Aliso Creek. We will supply the gloves, trash bags, reacher sticks, volunteer shirt, snacks and beverages. Meet at Cherry Avenue and Fernbank Street (southwest of Cherry Park). Park on Cherry Avenue. All volunteers such as service organizations, students, scout groups, Kiwins, teens and adults are welcome. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. All volunteers must sign a waiver form. Please wear appropriate footwear, sunscreen, and a hat.

· May 14 – Court of Honor – Connor Karns (12 pm – 26561 Rancho Pkwy So)

· May 14 – Hiring at Ralphs (10 am to 3 pm – All Ralphs stores)

"We have a wide variety of part-time positions that we need to fill in every Ralphs store in Southern California," said Kendra Doyel, vice president of Corporate Affairs for Ralphs Grocery Company. "Positions are available to friendly and engaging people in most every department, including front end, deli, meat, bakery and grocery." Those interested in starting a career with Ralphs are encouraged to apply online at jobs.ralphs.com– before May 14.

· May 15 – “Prelude in the Park” (3 pm to 6:30 pm – Sports Park)

Fresh off the stage after a first-place win at the American Drum Line competition, El Toro High School’s 7 musical ensembles and color guard take to the Lake Forest Sports Park stage at the 9th Annual Prelude in the Park, the school’s annual gift of music to the Lake Forest community.

· May 17 – Office Hours (4 to 5 pm – City Hall)

Office hours will be short this week so that I can prepare for the closed session evaluation of the City Manager.

· May 17 - City Council Meeting (7 pm – City Hall)

Who knows what will happen this time. Will the residents be placed in time out”? For 5 minutes? 10 minutes? Will the Mayor get up and leave with no notice? It’s better than a soap opera and it’s free.

· May 18 - Broker Workshop (11;30 am to 1 pm – Sports Park)

The Commercial Broker/Property Manager Workshop is tailored for commercial brokers and property managers representing Lake Forest business parks and retail shopping centers. The workshop will include updates on the City’s major development projects and helpful resources to successfully navigate through the City’s planning and building review process. Economic Development will also provide an overview of marketing tools to assist brokers and property managers in attracting companies to Lake Forest.

· May 19 – Ribbon Cutting – Flash Electrolysis & Skin Care (5 pm – 22642 Lambert St (401B)

Free O2 Hand Treatments provided by Image Skin Care , Image Goodie Bags for the first 30 attendees
