Woman Fights Off Rapist in South County

Authorities are warning residents about a rapist who attacked a woman walking along the Oso Creek Trail in Mission Viejo Wednesday afternoon.

The woman was able to fight off her attacker, and police are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

The attack occurred at about 3:30 p.m. in the area of area of Marguerite Parkway and La Paz Road.

According to the sheriff’s department, “a female was walking the Oso Creek Trail when the suspect grabbed her and pulled her to the ground. The suspect attempted to pull the female's pants off. The female fought back and the suspect fled the area.”

The man is described as 5’10, about 50 years old, and husky in build with a black flat top hair cut. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a white shirt, khaki pants and work boots.
