A beach hazards statement -- one notch below a high surf advisory -- will expire Friday night in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. NWS forecasters said surf of 3 to 6 feet, with sets as tall as 7 feet will pound the shore today as a result of a long-period swell in the Pacific Ocean.
